Combined Heat and Power
A Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Plant or Cogeneration Plant, is a technology that can simultaneously generate both electricity and heat.
All thermal power plants emit a certain amount of waste heat during electricity generation. This waste heat can be released into the natural environment through cooling towers, flue gas or by other means. CHP Plants use the waste heat to produce steam. The fuel used is typically natural gas or Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG). Genser installs CHP Plants for industry clients who require steam and electricity (between 3.0 to 5.9 MW) such as the GP Unilever Plant.
