Genser Energy has partnered up with Africa’s leading mezzanine fund manager in efforts of expanding the company. Vantage Capital is a financial services company based in South Africa, operating in various countries around the world. Vantage focuses on advisory banking, fund management and capital markets. In April 2013, Vantage Capital and Genser Energy Ghana finalized a $30million transaction. These funds were allocated towards the completion of the Chirano Power Plant at the Chirano Mines in the Western Region of Ghana.

Fidelity Bank is a leading commercial bank in Ghana striving to meet the banking and financial needs particularly private sector companies.  Genser Energy and Fidelity Bank partnered up in 2010 and 2011 through project financing on the development of the Unilever Ghana Combined Heat and Power  (CHP) Plant and subsequently, the Integrated Gasification Combined Cycle  (IGCC) Power Project for the Kinross Chirano Gold Mine.

CAL Bank is an innovative and indigenous Ghanaian Bank dedicated to providing world-class financial solutions to large corporations, small and medium sized enterprises and other customers in the banking sector. Pursuant to Genser’s vision to contribute and raise the total installed generation capacity and stabilize power supply in Ghana; CAL Bank finalized a $48million facilities agreement with the primary objective of financing the GoldFields 21MW  and 30MW Power Plants for Gold Fields Ghana Limited’s Damang and Tarkwa mines in the Western Region of Ghana.

Development Partner

PASH is a privately held energy and infrastructure developer, headquartered in the United Kingdom; and specialises on the energy side, in conventional power and renewable energy. PASH advises on all aspects of energy projects from project conception, design, procurement of fuel supply and logistics (in this regard PASH works closely with Producers and Traders internationally), project structuring, project development, contractual arrangements, financing, construction and operation.


Engineering Firms

Sinoma Energy Conservation Limited (“Sinoma EC”) is a waste heat power generation company. The company engages in the investment of waste heat power generation project, engineering technology development, consultancy and design of waste heat power generation, turn-key contract, supply of clean development mechanism, and development proposals and technology consultancy. It exports pure low temperature waste heat power generation technology and equipment with self-owned intellectual property. The company serves cement, steel, chemical, metallurgy, and other industries. Sinoma EC and Genser will be developing a number of projects in LNG infrastructure in addition to Power transmission and distribution services for Genser’s GP Tarkwa, GP Damang, GP Chirano and GP Takoradi sites in Ghana.

CIMC ENRIC Holdings Limited, is a world-class energy equipment manufacturer. CIMC ENRIC also provides engineering services and system solutions for the energy and chemical engineering industries. CIMC ENRIC is one of the companies listed on the Main Board of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in the energy, chemical and liquid food equipment industry segment. It is a subsidiary of China International Marine Containers (Group) Co., Ltd. CIMC ENRIC has provided Genser Energy with various logistics and energy equipment to facilitate Genser’s power plant projects in the various EPC sites across Ghana.


CENTRAX Gas Turbines is subsidiary company in Centrax Limited a privately owned company based in Newton Abbot, Devon in South-West England. Centrax Gas Turbines specialize in the manufacturing and servicing of Gas Turbine powered generator sets ranging from 3.9 MW to 66.0 MW with  core engines from Siemens. Genser recently purchased five (5) CX501-KB7 the renowned Gas Turbine manufacturer to be installed for the Damang power plant.

ZHM also known as Hangzhou Zhonglianheng Metal Engineering Co.,Ltd specializes in prefabricated Metal Building, Designing, Detailing, Engineering, Fabrication, Manufacturing and Construction of structures on an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) basis. Genser Energy has partnered up with ZHM in the engineering and construction of the Goldfields Tarkwa and Damang power plants.


Golden Star Resources (GSR) is a well-established gold mining company with major mining operations on the prolific Ashanti Gold Belt in Ghana. GSR and Genser signed a two (2) year Build-Operate-Transfer agreement in 2009 to construct a 30MW power plant for GSR’s mining concession in Bogoso (of the Western Region). Genser operated the plant for two (2) years and transferred ownership to GSR in 2012.

Unilever Ghana Limited is a large reputable firm in the manufacturing industry in Ghana. Unilever Ghana manufactures some of the worlds leading foods, home and personal products such as; Blue Band Margarine, Royco, Lipton Tea, Omo,  and Dove among several other products. Genser signed an agreement with Unilever Ghana to provide steam and power to its factory in Tema. Genser has installed a 5MW Rolls Royce Allison Gas Turbine  with an ABCo Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG). The agreement required that the operations and maintenance of the Unilever Ghana Facility be the sole responsibility of Genser Energy with its own staff.

Kinross Gold Corporation is a Canadian-based Gold mining company headquartered in Toronto, Canada and listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSE: K) as well as the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE: KGC). Kinross owns mines and projects in Canada, the United States, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, Russia, Ghana and Mauritania, employing approximately 7,500 people worldwide. Kinross operates the Chirano mine in Sefwi-Bekwai in the Western Region of Ghana through its ownership of Chirano Gold Mines Limited . In 2009, Kinross and Genser commenced discussions on the supply of power to its Chirano mine and concluded with the construction and installation of a 30MW power plant by Genser Energy.

Goldfields Ghana Limited is a mining company in Ghana with mining concessions in Tarkwa and Damang in the Western Region. Goldfields Ghana  partnered with Genser Energy to provide power to its Tarkwa and Damang mining sites .  Genser has installed two single cycle gas turbine plants, with capacities 33MW and 27.5MW, located on the Tarkwa and Damang mining concessions respectively. The plants have been in operation since they were commissioned in November 2016.
